Kalamazoo Institute of Arts 2010 Art Fair

I wanted to write quick note to thank everyone that showed up in Kalamazoo last weekend, and visited my booth. The KIA Art Fair was well attended, and from my point of view it was a well planned and thought out event. This was my first time attending this fair, and I am normally apprehensive about the first time at any show, but the staff at this how really has this down pat.
The show was quite successful for me personally as not only was business brisk, but I also won the prize for best in category for the photography category. This includes some prize money, and an automatic invite back for next year’s show. Needless to say, I was pleased.
In addition, it was nice to see so many people out stimulating the economy by buying art directly from the artists. In a world of massed produced art, it’s nice to know that people still like to purchase something unique directly from the artist.
Thanks to everyone that stopped by my both, and either chatted me up, or purchased a print. I’ll see you next year.
