SoFoBoMo Two Weeks Later

Well here I am two weeks into the 4 week project. Is the SoFoBoMo half empty or is it half full? I think It’s half full. The photographs are all taken. I have over 1,000 infrared cemetery images that I took in my 5 day tour of the cities of the dead. Now that doesn’t mean that that’s 1,000 photos of 1,000 different monuments. A lot of those 1,000 belong in the delete file. They are test exposures, or shots of my feet while I was mounting the camera to the tripod. Some are shots of tombstones or gravesites that just didn’t work. Many are variations of the same monuments from different perspectives looking for that one best solution. Out of those I need at least 35 for the project. I think I have about 30 images through the post processing process. So, simple math, the kind I like the best, says that I only need 5 more, but the reality of the situation is that I probably won’t be satisfied with my first choices. That means I probably need to work several more images so that I have more than 35 to choose from. The reality of the reality is that which ever ones I choose, I won’t be completely satisfied with those either. I remember seeing a little poster above a college’s desk that said something like there comes a time in project where you have to shoot the engineer, and finish the project. I guess that’s the purpose of the 31 days. Finish the project before you have to shoot the photographer.
